Steps toward the G.O.S.P.E.L

Gods Character

>The nature of God is an element left out of many presentations of the Gospel. Low views of God destroy the gospel for all who hold them. A view of God is crucial, for it is the beginning of all knowledge.

Offense of Sin

>The severity of sin is determined by the One who is sinned against.
God gets to determine the severity of sin since it was us who sin against him. God is just to punish everyone for sin but we see instead that God loves everyone to the point of sending his own son to death for us.

Sufficiency of Christ

>We see Christ fulfilling everything we failed and doing everything in complete obedience. We see Christ reversing everything sin has done to the world and to His people. We see Christ inviting us into a relationship with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit for the First time since the Garden. We see Christ Defeating Sin and Death, giving us victory over both. We see Christ Fulfilling the Law. We see Christ giving us His Righteousness.

Personal Response

This personal Response is where we find Justification, where the old meets the new, where death meets life, where darkness meets light. It is nothing that we could accomplish without Christ and it is found only in Christ alone.

Eternal Urgency

Once becoming a Christian, there is a eternal urgency to share the Gospel not knowing when Christ will return or call us home. Urgency for Evangelism. “For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.1 Thes 5:2

Life Transformation

Sanctification is the act/process of becoming more like Christ. From the Beginning of our Christian life to the end, we are being conformed in the image of Christ. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.2 Cor 5:17
