Life Transformation

“If there is no sanctification, it means that there never was any justification.” R.C.Sproul

Life Transformation is where the New found Believer and old saint continues to be conformed to the image of Christ. This process is know as Sanctification. Sanctification can only take place after Justification. From the Beginning of our Christian life to the end, we are being conformed into the image of Christ. it’s an ongoing process. It’s a journey, not a destination. The real key is the direction you’re heading, not the distance you’ve traveled or the place you’ve reached. We must always be moving towards the image of Christ.

New Life

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Cor 5:17

Through the death of Christ, God has made all things new including us. God saves us for his glory and then calls us to live for his glory. We have to be made new in order to be set free from our old life. With this new life comes a new since of identity, a new purpose and reason for living. This new reason is so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” This new life is one of reconciliation, one that God has called us into. We are called to forsake the old life and embrace the new life. Like I said before this new life brings new purpose of life, my life then changes to serving God rather than my self.

New Found Freedom

“For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” Gal 5:13

The freedom Jesus has to offer, is freedom from humanity: sin, death and the devil. We are born into a nature of slavery to both our flesh and the world. It is only Christ who can set us free. True freedom is not American freedom. It is not self dependence nor is it independence from laws or authority, nor is it social equality or political independence. True freedom is liberation from our self and the very nature we inherited. We can only find this in the life, death and resurrection of Christ.

We find that the freedom that Christ has to offer is the Freedom from Legalism and License. Whereas legalism demands responsibility without freedom, license grants freedom without responsibility. A large majority of people view the doctrine of grace, as a license to sin freely without any responsibility nor repercussions. However the legalism view comes from those who hold the law and responsibility as a means of Justification. But in Christ we find the perfect balance between freedom and responsibility giving us the ability to live to the standard that He calls us to.

Fruit of the Spirit

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” Gal 5:22-23

One who has been reborn should show evidences of new life abiding in thyself. This evidence is what we call the fruit of the Spirit. Notice that it is not called the fruits of the spirit meaning plural, for these fruits come together as One. Lets briefly take a closer look at each fruit of the spirit. The first being  “Love – agape” which Is the kind of selfless, Sacrificial affection that enables us to serve each other in Love. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends” John 15:13.  Next comes “Joy”, Joy is the ability to take cheer from the Gospel. Joy should always be based on one’s eternal identity in Christ, it should never depend on any circumstance. Joy should also over flow into “peace”  John MacArthur once wrote, “if joy speaks of the Exhilaration of the heart that comes from being right with God, then Peace refers to the tranquility of the mind that comes from a saving Relationship.”  “we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” Romans 5:1. Patience” has been defined as the ability to endure through adversity such as long-suffering in the face of hardship. A patience person should have a slow fuse. Next is “Kindness” it is a constant readiness to help, the extension of God’s grace to people around us through practical actions of caring. related to this is “Goodness” which could be summed up in the willingness to be generous. Next up is “Faithfulness” the trustworthiness that comes from trusting in the God of the Bible. “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 Then comes “Gentleness” this could be summed up in the way we approach others in love, care and understanding. “But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her own children.” 1 Thess. 2:7 Last but not least comes “Self-control” the ability to submit ones flesh to Gods law. We see this in controlling our words and actions in everything we do. “Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.” 1 Cor. 9:25

We must exercise and grow in the Fruit of the spirit as we are called to do with our new found life in Christ.

“Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.” Hebrews 2:1

Living life as ambassador

“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” 2 Cor 5:20

The purpose of becoming ambassadors of Christ is to reconcile people to God. Ambassadors are messengers who are swiftly bringing the Gospel to the Nations, we see this in Isaiah 18:2. We are called to Boldly proclaim the Gospel without fear or hesitation, we see this in Eph. 6:20. God makes his appeal to non-believers through believers whom which God uses as ambassadors of Christ. We serve the purpose of representing something or someone, in this case for the believer it is Christ. By representing Christ, we must become an ambassador of the Kingdom of God. The definition of a ambassador “an accredited diplomat sent by a country as its official representative to a foreign country.” As a Christian we are tasked with representing the Kingdom of God here on Earth for the glory of God.

My hope is that those who read this might be encouraged and might they seek to serve God to the fullest potential of their New life in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.
